COVID-19 Comes to Howard County

The Bain Senior Center will be closed at least until the end of April

Howard County is now in a state of emergency after it had its first reported COVID-19 case, an 82 year old resident of an assisted living facility in Elkridge. The patient, now hospitalized, had limited outside contact. This is probably a case of community spread. More information can be found on the Howard Country health alert webpage.

Updates: Governor Hogan has taken additional emergency measures, closing all bars and restaurants except for carry-out and delivery. Essential services, like grocery stores, gas stations and pharmacies are still open.

3/17/20 - Governor Hogan has postpone the 4/28 Maryland Primary to 6/2 and is setting up a vote by mail for the special Congressional election for the 7th District.

A COVID-19 infection count per county has been set up for Maryland. It is updated daily at 10am. Today it shows 3 cases in Howard County, 57 case statewide.
